Family Pictures on the Farm

On our way back from a wedding in Savannah last weekend we stopped in Brooklet to pick up Ryland and Codi from their weekend with JJ and MiMi. We also had family pictures before we headed back to Atlanta. The setting was beautiful and the weather was great. But Ryland was definitely not wanting his picture taken or wanting to put down the box of Nilla Wafers! Below are some candid pictures that we took in between the professional ones! Lets hope that they were able to get a few good ones of Ryland actually looking at the camera and smiling.

Pumpkins!

Our weekends have been crazy busy lately with work and traveling so we have not been able to drive up to North Georgia to one of the big pumpkin patches. But we did walk up to the church in our neighborhood this past weekend and Ryland had a great time running around the pumpkins and playing!

We then came back to our house and set out our one large pumpkin and three small pumpkins on the front porch that CC and Pops brought back from Highlands. And they even brought us back a pumpkin that plugs in and lights up. Ryland loves it!

Here are some pictures from our walk up to see the pumpkins!

Lately ...

22 Months and 9 days old! Wow ... where has the time gone! Here is the latest with Ryland ...

- No more going down the stairs backwards ... he is a big boy now and must walk down them standing up.

- My favorite word of his is by far "socks". The way he says it and pronounces all 5 letters is so cute!

- He loves his clothes ... especially his socks and shoes!

- He knows exactly what he wants ... at all times!

- He loves it when Big Bear joins him in his crib in the morning when he wakes up.

- He must say "What's that?" at least 250 times a day. And will never let you not answer him. He just gets louder and louder and then adds "MOMMY, what's that?!?"

- He gives the best kisses!

- He talks about his "CC" all the time and constantly points out every red SUV and says "CC's car"

- It is crazy how he understands everything that you say and will repeat everything.

- He loves to say "Mommy, NO" or "Daddy, NO"

- He loves trucks, airplanes, cars and anything BOY! He loves it even more when it is outside!

- Anything Elmo is his favorite. He is going to be Elmo for Halloween because he will not put on any other costume and loves to wear his Elmo t-shirt that is solid red with only Elmo's face.

- He loves to have the ipod on in the kitchen when he eats breakfast. And dance while he eats!

- He likes ice in his water and still has not ever had any juice.

Here are some pictures from last Saturday morning. I love this boy so much!

Uh Oh ...Biting "Hurts"

So .... Ryland has biten 2 kids at school this week! We got the "call" from school on Monday and Tuesday giving us the news. His teachers said that they think he was "provoked" because the other kid was trying to take something from Ryland. But now this should be fun teaching him that biting is not the right answer to keeping his toys! The good thing is that they said that he said "sorry" and gave them a hug after the incident. They are teaching him the sign language for "hurt" hoping that it helps him understand not to bite. Lets hope that this is a very quick phase for him!

Ryland's New Chalkboard ...

We went to Ikea the other weekend and got Ryland a new chalk board/easel. He loves it! We surprised it for him when he woke up from his nap. And he went straight to it and colors on it every day.

1 Tube In and 1 Tube Barely Hanging On!

Well Ryland still has one ear tube in place and one that has fallen out of the ear drum but still hanging out inside his ear! I am so surprised that he has been able to keep the tubes in this long ... 14 months so far! I had a feeling that they were going to fall out early since he had to get them so young. But they did not and both last for over a year. Now lets hope that one hangs in there for most of the winter and that his ear infections stay far away!

He also did great on his hearing test today. But he would not let them put the ear specific ear testers in his ears without screaming so we will be going back in 6 months for another try!

UGA vs Mississippi State

Ryland, Tab and I all headed to Athens on Saturday for the UGA - Mississippi State football game. This was Ryland's first game of the season and the weather was perfect! We all had so much fun.

*
We stopped and had lunch at Blind Pig (one of our favorite restaurants from when we were in college)
*

*
We parked at the AXO and walked to the game from there. We were running a little late so everyone was already inside the stadium so there were no crowds which was nice.
*

*

*
It was a little chilly inside the stadium because our seats are in the shade. And Ryland would not wear his jacket. So we had to cover him up with his blanket whenever he would let us. He is watching the band during half time in this picture. I think this was his favorite thing of the game ... even though you cannot tell by the expression on his face :)
*

*

*
We walked out to the open area (to warm up!) and Ryland had a blast playing corn hole at the Allstate stand.
*

*

*

Walking out of the stadium. We ended up leaving a little early so that we could walk around on Sanford Drive before the game was over.

Ryland was sound asleep before we even got out of Athens!
