Long Week at Home with the "Ick"
Ryland started running a low grade fever on Tuesday morning which turned into a high fever by that night. So that meant no school for Ryland and staying at home with my parents while Tab and I went to work. He did not really show any other signs of "sickness" so we were hoping that it would just run it's course in a day or so and then everything would be back to normal. We were giving him steady doses of Motrin and his ear infection drops since their had been a little bit of drainage in his ears. But Friday was day #4 of the high fever that would not go away so we decided to take him into see Dr Loventhal. My dad went with me to the appt on Friday afternoon since he was out at our house watching Ryland that morning. Ryland was great until he saw Dr Loventhal coming towards the room and then he remembered where he was ... at the Dr's office! Dr Loventhal confirmed that he had 2 ear infections (not severe but definitely present in both ears) but said that everything else looked ok. He gave Ryland an oral antiobotic to take on top of the ear drops that we had been giving him. I was really hoping that the medicine would kick in fast because Katy was suppose to come out this weekend to take Ryland's picture. But Ryland woke up on Saturday morning still with a high fever and not feeling great. So we had to cancel Ryland's photography session :( This morning he seemed like he felt a little better and his fever had finally dropped to a low grade (100/101) fever. After his morning nap we decided to all get out of the house and go to the playground for some fun and fresh air. We also stopped at this cute little church down the road from Ryland's school to walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather. I hope Ryland is able to sleep off the rest of the nasty bug that has been in his little body for 6 days. I think he misses school and is ready to see all of his friends and teachers ... and we are definitely ready to be back to our normal routine! Below are some pictures from our afternoon out in the bright sun! * * * * * * * * * *
