Uh Oh ...

On Tuesday night we were all outside with the kids in our neighborhood. Our neighbor has one of those little cars that the kids can get in and it is open to the ground below. Ryland L-O-V-E-S playing in this car. Tab was pushing Ryland and Ellie Brook around in it and before we knew it Ryland had fallen into the opening and was being drug under the car. And to top it off he had on shorts so his little knees were just torn up. I cannot imagine how much it hurt and burned. We took him straight inside and to the bath to clean out all of the scraps/scratches and to stop the bleeding. This is by far his worse "accident" so far. He screamed every time that we tried to touch them or put medicine on them. He screamed when we put on his pajamas. And he screamed when we tried to put pants on him the next morning because his little knees hurt when he walked in pants (needless to say he went to school with shorts on). They are getting better and the scabs are starting to form. It just breaks my heart when I see his little knees with these scratches and scraps knowing that they hurt.

His knees in this picture do not look as bad as they do in person but this was the best one that we could get ... Ryland was not in the mood to sit still for a picture of his knees!

The Easter Bunny Came, Dropped Off a Basket and Wished Us a Happy Easter!

What a wonderful Easter Sunday! The day started out with the Easter bunny dropping off something for Ryland. He was excited to see it all sitting on the coffee table in the living room when he came down for breakfast.

We then went out to Douglasville to go to the early Easter Sunday church service. Ryland was great in the nursery. After the church service we were able to say hello to everyone before heading back to CC and Pops for a nap and Easter lunch.

After lunch we headed up to the Garbade's for an Easter egg hunt. And what better way to go than in a wagon!

A Little of This and A Little of That Part #2

We had appetizers and dinner out on the back porch on Sunday night. The weather was beautiful and Ryland got to sit in the bog boy chair! He is eating hummus and crackers in most of these pictures so you will see it all over his hands and face! * * * * * * * * Ryland's new thing over the past few weeks is rearranging the furniture. If his little 22 lb body can push it around then it will be moved ... tables, chairs, stools, boxes. Here are some pictures of him moving his rocking chair around the kitchen and living room. PS ... Check out his new blue crocs. They are the cutest things ever! And he loves wearing them! * * * * * He also loves pushing his trucks around the house. * * Ryland and Tab were twins this day. They both wore their orange Polo shirts and khaki shorts. Everyone at school thought they were the cutest when Tab dropped him off that morning. * * These are a pair of his favorite jeans. And after wearing them for over 8 months he finally got his first hole in the knee! I guess it is good timing because they are actually a little too short for him now. * * He is doing some serious thinking ... what should he get into next! *

A Little of This and A Little of That

We got Ryland a pair of sunglasses this weekend and surprisingly he left them on for most of our walk today. How cute is he .... * * * After a dinner of fish and hummus we decided to strip Ryland down in the kitchen and give him a bath in the kitchen sink. He loved it!! *

*

* Ryland had so much fun at Jack's 5th birthday party last weekend. He was so exhausted that he was passed out before we could even get out of the neighborhood!

What is New in Ryland's World !?!

A lot actually :) I am amazed at all of the new things that he does every day. Below is a list of the newest and custest ones. * His favorite word is "ball". And he can spot a ball anywhere ... even in pictures. * He makes a "brrrrr" sound as he drives his cars/trucks around the house. * He knows what goes in his daycare bag and helps us pack it each morning. * Running, running, running. He is as fast as lightning! * His favorite meal of the day by far is breakfast. * He is a dipper. He loves to dip crackers or carrots in hummus. He will even dip stuff in stuff that is not made for dipping! * He is learning to hold our hand when we walk outside in parking lots and in the street. It is not his favorite but he is getting better at it.

Long Week at Home with the "Ick"

Ryland started running a low grade fever on Tuesday morning which turned into a high fever by that night. So that meant no school for Ryland and staying at home with my parents while Tab and I went to work. He did not really show any other signs of "sickness" so we were hoping that it would just run it's course in a day or so and then everything would be back to normal. We were giving him steady doses of Motrin and his ear infection drops since their had been a little bit of drainage in his ears. But Friday was day #4 of the high fever that would not go away so we decided to take him into see Dr Loventhal. My dad went with me to the appt on Friday afternoon since he was out at our house watching Ryland that morning. Ryland was great until he saw Dr Loventhal coming towards the room and then he remembered where he was ... at the Dr's office! Dr Loventhal confirmed that he had 2 ear infections (not severe but definitely present in both ears) but said that everything else looked ok. He gave Ryland an oral antiobotic to take on top of the ear drops that we had been giving him. I was really hoping that the medicine would kick in fast because Katy was suppose to come out this weekend to take Ryland's picture. But Ryland woke up on Saturday morning still with a high fever and not feeling great. So we had to cancel Ryland's photography session :( This morning he seemed like he felt a little better and his fever had finally dropped to a low grade (100/101) fever. After his morning nap we decided to all get out of the house and go to the playground for some fun and fresh air. We also stopped at this cute little church down the road from Ryland's school to walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather. I hope Ryland is able to sleep off the rest of the nasty bug that has been in his little body for 6 days. I think he misses school and is ready to see all of his friends and teachers ... and we are definitely ready to be back to our normal routine! Below are some pictures from our afternoon out in the bright sun! * * * * * * * * * *
