Orange Beach and Family Time!

This past weekend was the annual family reunion beach trip to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores.  Tab and I went down a day early and Ryland rode down with my parents the following morning.

Tuesday night (the night before Tab and I were leaving) Ryland got a temperature. We gave him some medicine but when he woke up still having a temperature we decided to take him to the doctor before heading out of town to make sure that everything was ok.  Ryland saw Dr Segal (Dr Loventhal was out of the office) and she said that everything looked good and that it was probably a viral infection which means that there is not much that we can do except for it to run it's course.  Ryland was acting like he felt ok so Tab and I decided to head to the beach and we dropped Ryland off at my parent's house on the way out of town.

Here is a picture of us at the doctor's office.  He was excited about going and did not even cry!  What a big boy!

Tab and I had a great time outlet shopping, going to dinner and playing put-put before everyone got there.

The next day everyone arrived and our fun family time started.  Ryland loved hanging out with all of his cousins (Nate, Kai, Miles, Marcy and Mandy).  Miles and Ryland are only 1 week apart in age and they played great together.  Ryland quickly started referring to him as "my friend Miles".

Marcy and Mandy brought scissors and tape and Ryland had a lot of fun learning how to cut paper.  I guess we need to go buy some scissors to have at home.  It was so funny to watch his facial expressions while he was cutting the paper ... look at the tongue action.

Eating a cinnamon roll and laughing at how "sticky" it was!

Playing cars with Miles ...

Getting ready to go out on the beach with their flash lights to look for crabs and turtles.  This was a favorite with all of the kids!

Relaxing and watching a movie .. all of the kids were exhausted from all of the action and beach time!

Beach time ...

Chasing the birds down the beach ...
